Cyberbullying​: A type of cybercrime​.

Cyberbullying is harassment by electronic means, which is also termed as cyber-harassment or online bullying, there are various mediums of cyberbullying like SMS, Text, apps, social media or forums.

This includes sharing personal or private information about someone, which cause that person embarrassment or feel like humiliation. Cyberbullying after a span if crosses a line end up doing unlawful act or crime.

CYBERBULLYING CAN BE IN DIFFERENT FORMS:-

  • Hacking the victim’s account.
  • Posting any kind of humiliating content related to victim.
  • Stalking by various means like calls, messages, etc.
  • Threats of child pornography.
  • Sending or posting vulgar messages online.
  • Threatening to commit acts of violence.


Laws and Sanctions:-


All states in India have laws requiring schools to respond to bullying, many states do not include cyberbullying under these laws or specify the role schools should play related to bullying that takes place outside of school.

Schools may take action as required by law, or with local school policies that allow them to discipline or take other disciplinary action. You can learn more about the laws and policies in each state, including if they cover cyber bullying.
